This time last year, Sportsworld were preparing to unveil the inaugural England House – a concept that after the success of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, will be carried through to all future football tournaments for England Supporters, starting with UEFA EURO 2024!
Qatar 2022 – Looking back, it’s hard to believe it was almost 12 months ago, but here we are nearly in November, and it feels like a fever dream. Qatar was iconic for several reasons, whether it was the incredible stadiums, the World Cup’s unique December schedule, or the fact that this World Cup was hosted by one city – one city, not one country!
Doha, a modern metropolis transformed into a football paradise, featured skyscrapers adorned with nations’ heroes and fan zones that resembled Glastonbury. It’s safe to say that Qatar went all out to provide an unparalleled World Cup experience.
At the heart of this football utopia was England House, an ultra-modern skyscraper dedicated to travelling England supporters. Upon approaching England House, England branded plush hotel doors revealed the grand entrance where guests were welcomed by a 20-metre mural featuring the likes of Jack Grealish, Marcus Rashford, and Harry Kane.
Once checked in, guests made their way to their apartments through the Lion’s Den lift area, entered the lifts and were greeted by images and stats of England football legends sparking stories from some of England’s greatest moments. The attention to detail was incredible – when entering the apartments, guests were welcomed by England merchandise, a welcome pack and what every England supporter needs after a long flight – a cuppa tea and a biscuit.
Kicking off the day, supporters visited the Welcome Desk to make sure they weren’t missing out on anything, and in-between fixtures, made the most of the weather and relaxed on the secluded England Terrace.
It’s safe to say that England House had everyone wishing they could check in. With a pool, gym, and a central location, these modern luxury apartments were truly something to write home about.
