Tribal Series Para Tri
A trailblazing initiative created, marketed and delivered by Sportsworld, award-winning Para Tri was the UK’s first participation disability sports series developed to make sport accessible for the 12m disabled people living in the UK.
Around 300 participants, many of whom had never entered a competitive sporting event before, took part in the Dorney Lake event, taking on solo Para-triathlons and relay challenges. Sportsworld successfully secured sponsors and suppliers to support the inaugural event including Barclays, BP, SSE, Lucozade, Ottobock and Quest88. The first Para Tri event, held in August 2015 scooped industry awards including two at the EVCOM LIVE awards (Gold for Sporting Event and Bronze for Outdoor Event).
