Sportsworld, one of the UK's leading event management and sponsor services companies, has been appointed the official hospitality provider for Six Day London, a major new track cycling event at Lee Valley VeloPark. Six Day racing is returning to the UK - its birthplace - for the first time in 35 years this autumn, and Sportsworld has designed two exclusive packages for hospitality guests.
Six Day promises to be the hottest new event on the British sporting calendar, as stars of the track and road peloton compete on six consecutive days across a range of popular disciplines, including the Madison, Team Elimination and Derny Race. The event will also feature 3 nights of Elite female racing.
Through Sportsworld's exclusive VIP opportunities, guests can enjoy a premium hospitality experience, in the centre of the track at the very heart of the action. As well as the cycling, they can savour all the off-track entertainment, which includes fantastic food, drink and music. As well as World Class racing, Six Day will have an electric party atmosphere unlike anything seen at a cycling event before.
Over the six-day event, from Tuesday October 24th to Sunday October 29rd, hospitality guests will have exclusive access to the centre of the velodrome, ensuring fantastic views of the world's best riders on the boards and in the pits. The first stage of Six Day, will have a field of riders second to none. Already signed are a number of World Tour riders and Track World Champions, including Michael Morkov and Alex Rasmussen. Mark Cavendish is a partner to Six Day and is also expected to ride.
VIP hospitality packages
Not everyone can don their skin suit and compete alongside the world's top riders, but Sportsworld's exclusive VIP opportunities offer the next-best thing. Madison Bar Packages - which start at £86 per person plus VAT - bring informal hospitality to the heart of the track, an area normally reserved for athletes and officials. As well as a great view, the package offers a dedicated VIP entrance, a complimentary bar and snacks, an Official Six Day London programme and occasional seating in the central area.
Sportsworld's premium Inner Circle packages deliver a luxury hospitality experience, plus an unrivalled insight into life as a rider. Prices from £196 plus VAT per person, they offer a dedicated VIP entrance, exclusive vantage points with up-close views of the straights, casual seating and reserved tables for groups of eight or more, table service from experienced hostesses, a complimentary premium bar, high-end buffet food, an event documentation pack and an official programme.
What is Six Day racing?
Six Day races are elite cycling competitions involving a series of sprint and endurance races, held over consecutive evenings on a steeply-banked velodrome. Competing in teams of two, riders battle it out to accumulate points and - most importantly - pick up laps on the opposition to move up the leaderboard.
Six Day racing was invented in London in 1878, was the biggest spectator sport in the USA in the first quarter of the 20thcentury, and remains famous for its historic competitions on the continent, including events in Ghent, Amsterdam and Berlin. Sixes remain a much-loved feature of winter cycling and the sport is now returning home for the first time since 1980.
