Another two weeks have blown by, quite literally with Storm Eunice & Franklin causing havoc across the nation. But don’t worry, I’m about to take us back to our happy place – The Wimbledon Championships.
The Treehouse
Following on from Part 1: What’s New Wimbledon, let’s start this blog with a bang! The Wimbledon Championships 2022 will be home to a brand-new hospitality facility offering a truly unique immersive experience. Picture extravagant interiors, luxurious furnishings and all-round good vibes… The Treehouse facility is certainly going to be something special. The facility will bring something slightly alternative to the party, modernising the official Wimbledon Hospitality with live cooking displays, live DJ’s supplying the soundtrack to your day, and of course, we have to mention the gourmet small plates from well-renowned 2 Michelin starred chef, Tom Sellers.
It’s no secret The Lawn and The Rosewater are both fantastic facilities offering world-class hospitality, but something about The Treehouse is making me fall in love with the idea of going to the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament all over again.
Mixed Quarter-Finals
This year, Wimbledon is out with the old and in with the new. There is another massive change that sees Wimbledon stepping away from its traditional round format – this year we will see mixed gender quarter-finals. This will be the first time in Wimbledon’s history that this will happen which is another major change to the Championships we know and love. But what does this mean for us? For the fans, it means we get the best of both worlds, we will get to witness both the very best of women’s and mens tennis on the same day.
I think it’s safe to say that this year’s Wimbledon will be bigger, bolder and better than ever. With the new additions they have made for The Championships, Wimbledon 2022, I feel like they have opened doors that will gather a whole new audience and are firmly stepping into the 21st century.
