With less than 150 days to go, it’s time to start daydreaming of blue skies, ice-cold Pimm’s & strawberries and cream…oh and the tennis of course. It may be February and grey outside but believe me, close your eyes and focussing on the above is enough to send shivers down your spine.

First of all, for the first time in what feels like forever, The Championships, Wimbledon will be at full capacity. This means we will be able to feel the unrivalled atmosphere at the famous grounds of Wimbledon once again!
100th Birthday!
At Wimbledon 2022 we will also be celebrating a big birthday – join me in giving a big ‘hip hip hooray’ for Centre Court which will be celebrating its 100th birthday! Built in 1922 the iconic court has stood strong in the heart of Wimbledon Village for a whole century. It’s not just been used for tennis, Centre Court has had many purposes over the years most famously serving as a pig farm during World War 2 and even went on to be bombed during the Blitz in 1940, causing damage to over 1,200 seats.
Even though the iconic Centre Court has changed over the years from scoreboards to retractable roofs, after 100 years it remains the most famous tennis court in the world. To celebrate its century there will be a special ceremony taking place on Sunday 3rd July and the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum has installed a new exhibition dedicated to Centre Court – 100 Years of Change – which is now available for visitors to the grounds to enjoy.
Middle Sunday
So, how’s Wimbledon 2022 sounding so far? Pretty good right? But it gets better! Wimbledon will have a 14-day game schedule which sees the addition of ‘Middle Sunday’. For the first time in Wimbledon history, you will be able to indulge in ‘all things Wimbledon’ for a solid 14 days straight and witness tennis’ super stars battle it out on the courts with no break in the middle of the tournament.
