Cavendish and Kennaugh set sights on Six Day London
02 Oct 2017
Shorn of his end-of-season Team Sky duties, Pete Kennaugh will make his Six Day London debut alongside Mark Cavendish next month to form an all-Manx power pairing.
The 28-year-old will be returning to a familiar track, having won team pursuit gold at London 2012 at the Lee Valley VeloPark, with a familiar partner – the two regularly rode and competed together on the Isle of Man as youngsters.
Cavendish and Sir Bradley Wiggins were famously edged out of a prized victory by Belgians Kenny de Ketele and Moreno de Pauw at last year’s Six Day London, and the prospect of a win in his debut professional Six Day has already got Kennaugh – who leaves Team Sky this year to a new start at German UCI WorldTour team Bora-Hansgrohe – excited.
