You can expect fewer rain delays for Centre Court as a result of a new retractable roof which will be introduced for 2009. However, if we see a repeat of 2008’s good weather, the roof will stay open for most of the fortnight!

Visitors to Wimbledon in 2009 will also have the new No. 2 Court to look forward to. Completely rebuilt, the show court's capacity has been improved to allow 4,000 spectators into the arena, with excellent views throughout.

The playing surface has been built 3.5 meters into the ground so as not to obstruct the views of neighbours to the All England Club, an innovation that will only add to the court's uniquely intimate atmosphere.
