England Celebrate

For the first time ever, the continent of Africa is hosting the world's most prestigious football event, the FIFA World Cup™. The tournament will take place in South Africa from 11th June to 11th July 2010.

Sportsworld has been appointed by MATCH Hospitality as official sales agent in the UK and Republic of Ireland for the 2010 FIFA World Cup hospitality programme.

Can a corporate hospitality programme at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ pay dividends to businesses? Well, entertaining clients overseas might not seem like a priority at a time when the economy is in freefall, but anything that strengthens business relationships and the opportunity to network and reassure clients is bound to pay in the long run. In fact a recent survey of 1,040 businesses conducted by a leading event publication magazine showed that 78% of companies still consider hospitality to be an essential part of doing business.

Sportsworld's CEO, Chad Lion-Cachet comments “this is the chance to witness history in the making at 2010’s biggest sporting event. Since the whistle went after the England – Croatia game on 09-09-09, the media coverage relating to the FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa has been staggering. This has focused many people’s minds on how difficult it is going to be to get to South Africa. At Sportsworld we have the expertise and knowledge in providing a unique and truly memorable experience for clients”.

With limited availability on International flights, accommodation and match tickets, Sportsworld can take care of it all.  Sportsworld has gained valuable experience in operating in South Africa last summer, taking care of thousands of guests as Official Licensed Operator for the Lions Tour.  Sportsworld has secured the best hotel locations, guaranteed Category 1 match tickets and has the infrastructure to ensure the most enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Hospitality and travel packages offer choice and flexibility for a range of budgets. Businesses can choose to take a small group of clients to one key match, invite their top performing employees to follow their team through the entire tournament, or make the event a major feature of their marketing and promotions mix with a private suite at all the key matches. Accommodation and travel to complement the hospitality is also available from Sportsworld, under the guarantee of their ABTA, IATA and ATOL licenses.

Hospitality packages start from $950* and include Category 1 match ticket, buffet hospitality (before and after the match inc. complementary bar), hostess service, parking facilities.  Travel packages start from £1699* and include airport meet and greet, transfers, 3 nights’ 4 star accommodation (twin occupancy with breakfast) in either Cape Town, Durban or Johannesburg, commemorative gift and Sportsworld staff in attendance throughout.

Established in 1980, Sportsworld's impressive set of event credentials include official hospitality at Euro 1996, provision of hospitality and travel programmes at the last 13 consecutive Olympic Games, and most recently appointment by LOCOG to manage both their London 2012 sponsor hospitality and GB's official ticket and tour programme for the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games in 2010.

Note to Editors: Founded in 1980, Sportsworld is a leading travel, hospitality and event services company, delivering memorable experiences at the world’s most talked about sporting and cultural occasions including the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, Wimbledon Championship, The British Grand Prix and the Rugby World Cup.
