Football World Cup Draw

It's Showtime! England are in Group C!

The glare of the football world was on Cape Town this evening, when England and the other 31 teams who made it through to Africa's first FIFA World Cup™ found out exactly who they were playing, when they will be playing, and in which magnificent stadium in South Africa.

After 28 months, 853 qualifying games and 2,344 goals on, the 200 teams who originally set out in the race to qualify, have been whittled down to just 32. Tonight the 32 balls were pulled from the pots and divided into eight groups to reveal to the world what we have all been waiting for!

England's fate was kind. They were drawn in Group C which means:

Match 1: England vs USA on Sat 12 June 2010 in Rustenburg. Kick off: 20.30pm

Match 2: England vs Algeria on Fri 18 June 2010 in Cape Town. Kick off: 20.30pm

Match 3: England vs Slovenia on Wed 23 June 2010 in Port Elizabeth. Kick off: 16.00pm
