See the Qutab Minar, a five story victory tower built by the first Muslim Sultan of Delhi, for yourself. Constructed of red sandstone, the 238-foot high tower served as a minaret to call the faithful to pray. The first mosque in India is also here, constructed from the spoils of 27 demolished Hindu temples. Move on to Humanyu’s Tomb who was a forerunner in the Mughal style of architecture of Delhi, then drive to India Gate, a 42 metre high majestic structure which remembers the 90,000 Indian soldiers who died in WW1 and the 1919 Afghan War.

Learn about the Sikh way of life at the Guardwara Bangla Sahib (Sikh Temple) which is one of the most important historical and sacred pilgrimage destinations of the Sikh community. The Lotus Temple, an exquisite example of the unison of Humanity is one of the most visited edifices of India. The temple is set amongst pools and gardens, which gives the impression of a floating half-open lotus flower and is recognized as one of the masterpieces of 20th Century architecture.

The Taj Mahal

Agra, taking in the Taj Mahal

Board the early morning luxurious, air-conditioned Shatabdi Express from New Delhi. Enjoy breakfast on board before arriving in Agra 2 hours later. Here you will visit the Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s City of Victory which lies on a hill top almost 40kms from Agra. Built in 1569, it was abandoned after 15 years due to the scarcity of water. Return back to Agra for lunch and then enjoy a visit to the majestic Agra Fort. Here you will witness magnificent palaces and halls. Lastly, visit the magnificent Taj Mahal- one of the Seven Wonders of the World and surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. Board the Shatabdi Express for your return trip back to New Delhi in the evening which includes an evening meal on board.
