SBS: London Tour 2009

The brief
- To provide a comprehensive London Tour Programme (5 days) centred around the Ashes Cricket at Lords to entertain SBS’s 13 top clients (leading Australian advertising agency representatives)
- The Tour needed to include different venues for lunch and evening meals and provide a flexible itinerary. Sportsworld organised and collated trip merchandise and daily room drops, all event transfers and full event management
Our response
- Lunch and dinner venues included popular caberet haunt Volupté, the Royal Festival Hall’s Skylon Grill, trendy Smith of Smithfields, traditional May Fair pub The Only Running Footman and the exquisite OXO Tower – all venues chosen to meet the contemporary and quirky nature of the group
- An exclusive walking tour, champagne and canapés in a private capsule on the London Eye along with a driving day with The Stig also met SBS’s alternative tour requirements
- Merchandise included SBS branded laptop rucksacks, polos, caps and binoculars as well as Aussie themed cricket paraphernalia and official Top Gear merchandise – all produced and/or purchased to a strict budget and deadline
- Sportsworld produced a comprehensive daily room drop (itinerary, weather forecast, dress code) and compiled and delivered this for each day of the trip, plus organised all event transfers
- Liaison with all third party suppliers (even where Sportsworld were not responsible) to ensure a smooth delivery throughout the event
- On site event manager escorted the group from start to finish – SBS hosts did not have to worry about any trip elements
The results
- SBS left the UK extremely impressed with Sportsworld’s capabilities
- All clients thoroughly enjoyed their experience
- Sportsworld are in discussions with SBS regarding their FIFA World Cup Programme in 2010
