Sportsworld reported a turnover of £21.8m for the year ended September 2010, compared to £9.2m for the previous year.

As hospitality, travel and event service specialists, our pre-tax profit for the year ended September 2010 was £2.3m, compared to a loss of £4.7m for the 12 months ending September 2009.

The Bribery Act will not outlaw corporate hospitality which may have led to a large number of prosecutions, the Government has said in its long-awaited guidance on last year's Bribery Act.

The Act should not be used to stop companies from entertaining customers and contacts, the new rules said.

Sportsworld strikes positive note for Commonwealth Games

TUI sports and adventure operator Sportsworld, which sells packages to the Commonwealth Games, has issued a statement saying that it has faith that sufficient security measures are in place for the event to go ahead successfully in India.

But it adds that should the Games be cancelled, bookings will looked at individually in terms of refunds.
